Scenes

It’s a Date!

Nathalie runs into Angela and asks if she and Kuro would like to accompany her and Anthony a double date of sorts. Angela says yes but Nathalie seems conflicted about the answer.

Its a date at an ice cream parlor. It starts off tense with Kuro looking for a way to end it quickly but they Angela gets the date back on track by remarking that she’s never had ice cream before and its pretty good!

Angela and Nathalie head to the restroom together before heading over to the announcement of a new super hero museum a few blocks away. In the restroom Nathalie asks Angela what she thinks of Anthony. She answers in a bit of a cagey fashion and says that “He’s got problems but he doesn’t seem like a bad guy at heart”

Unsatisfied with this answer she later presses Angela harder to which she is told “Well, okay.. He works for the people who are the reason I’ve never had ice cream.”

While the girls are away, the boys bond over the local baseball team the Halcyon Herons.

Announcement with a side of aliens

The Mayor is giving a speech announcing the opening of a new super hero museum. Dante is in attendance because Sentinel is going to be there. Bethany was doing an errand for Otis that took her near city hall, and Angela/Kuro were on their way from their date.

The announcement is quickly interrupted by aliens who look half lion/half man. They challenge the mayor to select a representative for a duel. An ominous overtone implies that they’d be foolish to refuse.

Sentinel agrees to be the champion but signals to Dante in the crowd that he needs backup. As the force field descends from the Leonid ships Bethany forces herself between it and the ground to provide an escape route for all the trapped civilians.

To the ship

The crew quickly locates reverb and asks him to ferry them up to the ship so that they can get to work dropping the force-field. He agrees. Nathalie is currently nowhere to be seen as she’s been tasked with using her connections and gathering more young heroes through her SHSH connections.

In the ship, Servo determines where the core is and pretty much sets off every alarm along the way. The team fights the aliens and is able to disrupt the power to the ship long enough to drop the force-field and get help to arrive.

On the way out, Servo steals a chariot shaped shuttle-craft to ferry the team back to the ground. He drops by Sentinel who does look worse for wear and but is alive before heading off to squirrel away the shuttle.

Uh Oh Anthony

During the fight, Angela tells Anthony that Nathalie knows his secret. He remarks that it wasn’t her secret to tell and Angela says that she was in a position between lying to Nathalie or outing Reverb and she didn’t want to lie to one of her (only) friends when asked a direct question.

At the end of the scuffle, we see Anthony and Nathalie talking. He strikes a heroic pose, we assume revealing his “heroic” identity. Nathalie seems unimpressed and walks away. Angela catches up to her and finds her crying and lamenting “He lied to me. Why did he lie to me?” to which Angela seems to have no real answer.
